Q: What is the ticket price?

A: $32 per Adult ticket, $22 per Child ticket (ages 3-10)

Q: Are there any discounts available?

A: Yes, we offer active military tickets and senior citizen tickets for $30 each.

Q: How long is the ferry ride to Ship Island?

A: The ferry ride takes just under an hour.

Q: Do we accept credit cards on the boat and island snack bar?

A: Yes we accept Visa, Master Card and Discover. However, we do suggest you bring cash as well in case we lose internet service.

Q: What time does the ferry leave Gulfport?

A: The ferry schedule varies during different times of the year.

  • During Spring and Fall schedules the ferry is closed on Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday through Friday departs Gulfport 09:00 only, Saturday and Sunday departs Gulfport 09:00am and 12:00 noon.
  • During the Summer season ferries depart Gulfport at 09:00am and 12:00 Daily Sunday – Saturday and departs Ship Island at 2:30 & 5pm.
  • The Biloxi Ferry Schedule starts on May 12th from Margaritaville Hotel departing at 10am and departing Ship island at 3:30pm

Q: What time does the ferry return?

A: The ferry departs Ship Island at 2:30pm and/or 5:00pm depending on the seasonal schedule. The Biloxi ferry departs Ship Island at 3:30pm.

Q: If I take the 9:00am ferry do I have to come back at 2:30pm? Or can I choose to stay until five.

A: When the ferry is running our full summer schedule  it is your decision when to return. You may catch the return ferry departing Ship Island at 2:30pm or 5:00pm regardless of what time you left Gulfport. However, if the ferry is running only a single trip, for example: spring and fall weekdays you must return on the 2:30pm departing Ship Island. The Biloxi ferry has one trip returning from Ship Island at 3:30pm.

Q: Can I bring cooler with food and drinks?

A: Yes, you are welcome to bring an Ice Chest not exceeding forty two quarts; you may bring any beverage you like just remember All Glass Containers are prohibited on Ship Island.

Q: Is smoking allowed on the boats and island?

A: Smoking is not allowed on the 1 hour ferry boat trip to and from Ship Island but is allowed on the island. Please remember to dispose of your cigarette butts properly.

Q: Are Drones allowed on the Island?

A: The NPS does not allow Drones on the Island.

Q: Can I bring my own umbrella and chairs?

A: You may bring compact folding chairs and umbrellas. Remember you will have to carry everything you bring with you back out; which is why most of our return customers choose to rent the umbrellas and chairs already set out on the south beach.  Large canvas umbrellas can be rented for $15 per day. Sturdy wooden frame reclining canvas lounge chairs can be rented for $5 per day, includes detachable foot rest. Click HERE for a list of approved carry on gear

Q: What location can I board the ferry boats?

A: Use the intersection function: We are located in the Gulfport Small Craft Harbor located at theIntersection of U.S. Hwy. 90 and U.S. Hwy. 49.  In Gulfport MS 39501. Biloxi departures start May 12th from the Margaritaville Hotel on Hwy 90 in Biloxi


Q:  What is on Ship Island?

A: When we dock at Ship Island you will see Fort Massachusetts (free guided tours available most trips) just beyond the fort you will find a large covered picnic pavilion with tables and benches. Next to the pavilion there is a public restroom and shower facility located adjacent to the ranger station. Continuing over the marsh on the boardwalk you will find another covered picnic pavilion and more public restrooms and showers. Just before you reach the south beach you will come to our concessions and gift shop
