Affordable food service and sundry items are available on the boats and the island. Sizeable umbrellas and chairs can be rented on the south beach of the island.
Boat tickets can be purchased and rental items reserved at the Gulfport ticket office. Visa and Master Card excepted.
Reservations accepted for large groups only (15 or more). Tickets go on sale one hour before departure. Arrange for possible cash or travelers checks only on the boats and island.
Shade is limited on the island. Prepare for extreme heat and humidity mid-June through August. Wear sun block, protective clothing and eyewear. Open-toe shoes not recommended while on the boats. Insects are usually not a problem. However, carry insect repellent in case you need it. Wear your hat.
Restrooms, showers, drinking water, and a shaded picnic area available on the island. Restrooms are provided on the boats. Larger boats offer partial climate controlled seating.
Overnight camping is not permitted on West Ship Island. Island visitors must pack out anything carried to the island, including litter. Public litter receptacles are not provided on the barrier islands.
Arrive early. Travel light. Gear is limited to what can be stowed under your boat seat. Our repeat customers carry very little because of the amount of walking involved and the short time you are on the island.
Carry-on items may be subject to search before boarding. Due to restricted space, large items such as wagons, non-folding luggage carriers, unbagged folding chairs, huge strollers, etc. will be turned away at the boarding gate. Small backpacks ok. Small coolers permitted (42 quart limit).
Glass bottles and containers are prohibited. Highly flammable liquids, including propane, are not allowed on the boats. Limit two fishing poles per passenger. Hooks must be removed before boarding. Mississippi salt water fishing license required. Spear guns prohibited.
Sorry, pets are not allowed on the boats. Pet boarding can be arranged on request. Please contact our office for a list of available services in the area.
Lower deck of each vessel is wheel chair accessible. Larger boats offer some climate controlled seating.
Boats sometimes operate at near capacity on summer weekends. Summer weekday cruises offer passenegers half-filled boats.
